The Focus on Youth Training Institute offers evidence-based, trauma-informed, and research-based training to support the well-being of all children. It provides a variety of quality, affordable, and accessible training opportunities to fit the needs of individuals, groups, programs, and companies.

Who Can Attend?

Our training covers numerous topics critical to caring for and working with kids. Our trainings are especially designed to help individuals gain skills to work with kids who have experienced trauma. Trainings offered are perfect for:

  • Caregivers
  • Foster/ Adoptive parents
  • Social service professionals, including counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, childcare providers, and educators

Why It Matters

Many families are struggling with trauma-related challenges they are not equipped to handle. Without quality training, parents end up overwhelmed by issues they never expected, teachers fail to understand the impact of trauma on a child’s performance, and children in care are often bounced from placement to placement. Focus on Youth was founded on the belief that these issues can be reversed when parents and caregivers are properly trained to know what to expect and armed with the tools they need to handle what comes with children impacted by trauma. The Training Institute empowers individuals to gain competencies and advance the skills of professionals, families, and individuals.  Trauma informed care is the avenue needed to help children and families heal.
