• This Foster Parent Meeting will now be virtual

Join us for our April foster parent meeting! This training provides an overview of why youth use social media—such as for belonging, identity exploration, creativity, and peer connection—while exploring common platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Discord, and gaming chats. With a focus on youth in care, participants will learn to recognize key risks, including online predators, cyberbullying, sextortion, and privacy concerns, as well as warning signs like increased secrecy and emotional changes after online activity. Grounded in a trauma-responsive approach, this session equips caregivers with practical, relationship-based strategies and safety tools to support healthy and safe social media use.  Foster Parent meetings are designed to be a time of training, connecting with other Focus on Youth foster parents, and sharing a meal together.
