This workshop will explore the effects of trauma on the brain and the impact trauma has on children while in the school setting. Participants will learn strategies to advocate for individual education needs of children in foster care. Participants will also learn how trauma affects the brain and gain an understanding of how chaotic classrooms can create unnecessary challenges for children who have experienced trauma. This workshop will teach participants how to advocate appropriately for school aged children and encourage teachers and staff to adapt a trauma informed classroom.
