Qualifications:
The Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) will have a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in social work, human services, behavioral health, or related field. Licensed Social Worker preferred but not required. Must have education and/or experience in mental illness or substance use disorder treatment and recovery. Must understand the community behavioral system, psychiatric and substance use disorder symptoms and their impact on functioning and behavior, how to therapeutically engage with clients, de-escalation skills, and crisis response skills. Must complete required background checks including BCI / FBI with no record of forbidden offenses listed in OAC 5101:2-5-09. This is a full-time position.
Tasks may include:
- Provide Community Psychiatric Support Treatment (CPST) and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) to clients members within the client’s personal circle.
- Meet with clients in their home, school, or in the community.
- Coordinate with therapist staff and work on treatment plans for clients.
- Be trained and certified as a Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment provider and perform CANS assessments.
- Maintain progress notes, service plans, and documentation requirements.
- Maintain training hours as required for professional development and, if licensed, for professional licensing in compliance with the Ohio CSWMFT Board, OAC, and COA standards.
