The Case Assistant works closely with the social workers and supervisors to provide aid to the department in transportation, recording documentation, file management, and more. Qualifications include a High School diploma or some college. Applicant experience with children and trauma-informed care principles helpful. Applicants must have no criminal record and will be subject to fingerprinting. A motor vehicle check will be completed and applicants with more than 2 points on their driving license will be disqualified.
Tasks may include:
- Assist Youth Specialists and foster parents with transportation of youth to scheduled appointments.
- Coordinate special youth activities as they relate to treatment goals under the direction of Youth Specialists.
- Work one on one with youth and families (visit supervision), under the direction of the Youth Specialists and approval by immediate supervisor.
- Assist clerical staff in answering office phones and other duties, as needed.
- Maintain professional attitude and demeanor at all times when dealing with the public, county or other agency personnel, birth families, youth and/or foster parents.
- Support and attendance for agency organized events as required such as family and youth events, conferences, and fundraisers.
- This job requires the physical functions of sitting, walking, lifting, inputting data electronically, driving, transporting clients and the possible use of emergency safety physical interventions to maintain the safety of the children served.
- This job requires the mental functions of reading, writing/documentation, basic math calculations, crisis de-escalation, and withstanding moderate amounts of stress.
Salary Range: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour
