This course will cover the basics of special education law and how to navigate the IEP process for youth in foster care between the ages of 3 and 22. Participants will learn the warning signs indicating a youth may need special education supports and services. Through discussion and breakouts, this course will review special education laws to assist caregivers and professionals in understanding a youth’s educational rights and needs and how to access the educational services children deserve.
