Salary: $$41,600.00 – $49,920.00 per year

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling. Must be licensed to practice Social Work or Counseling in the State of Ohio. One year experience working specifically with youth in a foster care setting is preferred, as well as trauma-informed care knowledge and skills. Counseling experience with victims and perpetrators desired. The Youth and Family Therapist will have experience with groups, play therapy, individual and/or family therapy and will be skilled in making appropriate assessments.

Must complete required background checks including BCI/FBI with no record of forbidden offenses listed in OAC 5180:2-5-09. As part of the BCI/FBI background checks necessary for employment, in compliance with new policies from the Ohio Department of Children & Youth (DCY), all employees, new hires, and interns will have background checks conducted specifically searching for charges of domestic abuse. If there are any charges of domestic abuse or new charges that occur during time of employment, the employee is subject to denial of employment in the case of prospective new hires or interns and termination of employment for hired staff members, whether employees, contractors, or interns.

Tasks may include:

  • Provide individual, group and family therapy as needed and directed by the Clinical Director or Executive Director.
  • Write assessments for diagnostic purposes, for use in court proceedings, or as requested by a referring agency.
  • Provide training to staff, foster parents, and the community as requested.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed, as well as develop effective safety and support plans.
  • Coordinate with parties relevant to client’s treatment needs.
  • For those at Collaborative Partnership Sites, coordinate with their staff, provide life skills group services, crisis support, consult, and situational counseling as warranted.
  • Be available for case consultation with staff and caregivers.
  • Provide testimony in court when appropriate.
  • Maintain assessments, progress notes, service plans, monthly reports, discharge plans, and other documentation requirements.
  • Participate in Peer Reviews (audits) quarterly and rectify any Non-Compliance Issues.
  • Attend supervision, BH team meetings, and Agency Staff meetings.
  • Maintain training hours as required for professional licensing in compliance with the Ohio CSWMFT Board, OAC and COA standards.
  • Demonstrate support for and adherence to the mission and philosophy of the agency.
  • Demonstrate support and attendance for agency organized events as required such as family and youth events, conferences, Christmas party and fundraisers. Attendance requirements vary based on full or part-time status.
  • Maintain training hours as required for professional licensing (as related to your specific position) in compliance with the Ohio CSWMFT Board, OAC, and COA standards.
