This workshop will explore Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) and the effects on children exposed to alcohol in utero. Participants will learn the impact of FASD on the foster care system and society as a whole. Participants will also be able to identify the physiological, neurological and physical characteristics of FASD. This workshop will outline behavioral symptoms, secondary disabilities and diagnosis of FASD and treatment plans for the child diagnosed. Finally, this workshop will provide helpful resources, to participants, to aid in parenting and communicating support.
