Foster Parent Meetings are designed to be a time for Focus on Youth foster parents to support and network with each other, enjoy a meal together, and learn and grow in their role. This month’s training will be QPR Gatekeeper training. This course will educate participants to help save lives and reduce suicidal behaviors. This training will cover how to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal and how to get help for yourself or learn more about preventing suicide. Through discussion and activities, participants will come to understand the common causes of suicidal behavior, what the warning signs of suicide are and how to get help for someone in crisis.
